Fees & Insurance
Understanding the financial aspects of therapy and evaluation services is an important part of deciding whether to begin services. My goal is to make this process as clear and straightforward as possible so you can focus on finding the support that best fits your needs.
Insurance for Therapy Services
Insurance is accepted for therapy sessions through Alma and Headway, which partner with several major insurance providers.
If you plan to use insurance, your coverage and out-of-pocket costs will depend on your specific plan. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to better understand your mental health benefits, including your copay, deductible, and any limits on therapy sessions.
If you have questions about using insurance through Alma or Headway, we can discuss this when scheduling an appointment or during a consultation.
Private Pay
Some clients choose to pay privately for therapy services. Private pay sessions can provide greater flexibility and privacy since insurance companies are not involved in the therapy process.
Private pay may also be an option for individuals whose insurance plans are not currently accepted.
In some cases, sliding scale fees may be available depending on individual circumstances and availability.
Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits
If your insurance plan is not currently accepted, you may still be able to use out-of-network benefits. This means you pay for sessions directly and may submit a claim to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
For clients using out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill, which is a detailed receipt that you may submit to your insurance provider. Reimbursement rates vary depending on your specific insurance plan and coverage.
You may wish to contact your insurance company to ask about:
• out-of-network mental health coverage
• reimbursement rates for therapy sessions
• deductible requirements
Emotional Support Animal evaluations involve a clinical assessment to determine whether an emotional support animal may be appropriate for an individual’s mental health needs.
These evaluations are typically private pay services.
Flat Fee: $200
The evaluation process includes a consultation and clinical assessment. If it is determined that an emotional support animal is clinically appropriate, documentation may be provided to support housing accommodations under the Fair Housing Act.
Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Evaluations
Immigration Psychological Evaluations
Immigration psychological evaluations are specialized clinical assessments used to support certain immigration cases, including:
• hardship waivers
• asylum applications
• VAWA petitions
• U-Visa cases
• cancellation of removal
These evaluations involve a clinical interview, psychological assessment, and preparation of a written report that may be used by immigration attorneys as part of legal documentation.
Because the scope of these evaluations can vary depending on the case, fees are discussed during an initial consultation.
Virtual Services
All services are currently provided through secure telehealth sessions, allowing clients to access therapy or evaluations from the comfort and privacy of their own home.
Virtual services are available for adults located in:
Maryland
Virginia
West Virginia
Texas
New Mexico
