Services

Seeking support for your mental health or navigating a difficult life situation can feel overwhelming. Whether you are looking for therapy to work through personal challenges or need a professional psychological evaluation for documentation purposes, my goal is to provide a supportive and respectful experience.

I offer virtual mental health services and psychological evaluations for adults. These services are designed to help individuals better understand their experiences, access support, and move toward greater stability and well-being.

All services are provided through secure telehealth sessions, allowing clients located in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Texas, and New Mexico to access care from the comfort and privacy of their own home.

Individual Therapy for Adults

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in patterns that are difficult to change, therapy can offer a space to slow down and begin making sense of what you’re experiencing.

Many people seek therapy when they are dealing with anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, or major life transitions. Others may simply want a supportive place to talk openly about what they’re going through without feeling judged.

In individual therapy sessions, we work together to explore your experiences, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and develop healthier ways of coping with challenges. Therapy can help you build greater self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and move toward meaningful personal growth.

Sessions are tailored to your unique needs and may incorporate trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral strategies, and other evidence-based approaches designed to support long-term emotional well-being.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Difficult or painful experiences can leave lasting effects on how we think, feel, and relate to others. Trauma may show up in many ways, including persistent anxiety, emotional numbness, intrusive memories, difficulty trusting others, or feeling constantly on edge.

If you’ve experienced trauma, it can sometimes feel like those experiences continue to shape your life long after the events themselves have passed.

Trauma-informed therapy focuses on creating a safe and supportive environment where these experiences can be explored at your own pace. The goal is not to rush the healing process, but to help you gradually build a greater sense of understanding, stability, and self-compassion.

Through therapy, many people begin to feel more grounded, gain insight into their emotional responses, and develop tools that allow them to move forward in ways that feel healthier and more empowering.

Emotional Support Animal Evaluations

For some individuals, the presence of an emotional support animal can provide comfort, stability, and emotional support during challenging times.

If you are considering requesting housing accommodations for an emotional support animal, a licensed mental health professional must first complete a clinical evaluation to determine whether an ESA may be appropriate for your situation.

During an ESA evaluation, we will discuss your mental health history, current challenges, and the ways an emotional support animal may contribute to your emotional well-being. The purpose of this process is to ensure that any documentation provided reflects a legitimate clinical need and follows professional and ethical guidelines.

If it is determined that an emotional support animal is appropriate, documentation may be provided to support housing accommodation requests under the Fair Housing Act.

Immigration Psychological Evaluations

Immigration cases can involve significant stress, uncertainty, and emotional strain for individuals and families. In some situations, a psychological evaluation may be requested by an immigration attorney to help document the mental health impact of immigration circumstances.

Immigration psychological evaluations are detailed clinical assessments that may support cases such as extreme hardship waivers, asylum applications, VAWA petitions, U-Visa applications, or cancellation of removal.

These evaluations involve a clinical interview and careful documentation of emotional, psychological, and family-related factors that may be relevant to the case. A written report may then be provided to the client or their attorney for use in immigration proceedings.

My goal during this process is to create a respectful and supportive environment while conducting a thorough and professional evaluation.

How Services Work

Getting started is simple, and the process is designed to feel comfortable and supportive.

1. Optional consultation
If you would like to briefly connect before scheduling, you may request a free 15-minute consultation. This allows us to discuss what you’re looking for and determine whether the services offered may be a good fit.

2. Initial session or evaluation
During the first appointment, we will talk about your goals, concerns, and the reason you are seeking services. This session helps us better understand your needs and determine the most appropriate next steps.

3. Moving forward
For therapy clients, sessions focus on building insight, developing coping strategies, and working toward meaningful personal growth.

For evaluation services, the process may include a clinical assessment and preparation of professional documentation when appropriate.

What to Expect in Your First Therapy Session

Starting therapy can bring up a lot of questions, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure about what the first session will be like. Many people experience a mix of curiosity, hope, and nervousness when beginning therapy.

During the initial session, we will spend time talking about what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with—there is no expectation to share everything all at once.

We may discuss topics such as:

• the challenges you are currently experiencing
• important life experiences or stressors
• goals or hopes you may have for therapy
• patterns or situations that feel difficult to navigate
• what support might look like moving forward

The first session is also an opportunity for you to get to know your therapist and ask any questions you may have about the therapy process, approach to treatment, or what future sessions may look like.

If you have previously been in therapy, the first session can also be a helpful time to talk about what has worked well for you in the past and what you might like to approach differently moving forward. Whether you are returning to therapy after some time away or meeting with a new therapist for the first time, this conversation can help shape the direction of your care.

Therapy works best when you feel comfortable with the person you’re working with, so this first meeting is really about determining whether the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit.

There is no pressure to have everything figured out before you start. Many people begin therapy simply knowing that something in their life feels difficult and that they would like support in making a change. In fact, many clients say the hardest part of therapy is simply taking the first step of scheduling the appointment.

If you’re considering therapy and would like to learn more, you’re welcome to schedule an appointment or request a brief consultation to see if this feels like the right fit for you.
